ASA2012 Canberra will be held at the National Convention Centre Canberra from 25-27 May 2012.
Submission of abstracts for invited and proffered presentations, as well as workshop notes, must be submitted by 17 February 2012 using the online abstract submission.
plenary presentations
Throughout most of ASA2012 Canberra, two concurrent plenary sessions will be offered. Presenters are urged to review the confirmation information forwarded via email to ensure you are aware of all arrangements and requirements for your presentation.
workshops
Traditional workshops, which feature a short PowerPoint presentation as well as a live-scanning demonstration.

audiovisual requirements
To ensure the smooth running of ASA2012 Canberra:

All presentations are to be prepared in PowerPoint (all versions are acceptable - Presentations including embedded AVI files must ensure that the AVI file is stored in the same folder as the presentation and supplied as a separate file)

All presentations are to be uploaded in the Speaker Preparation Room and will be linked to the conference rooms via a network. Only in exceptional circumstances will presenters be able to use their own laptop, therefore you are encouraged to familiarise yourself with the equipment made available in the room you are presenting in.
Presentations must be uploaded in the Speaker Preparation Room at least one hour prior to the commencement of the session in which you are presenting.

guidelines for electronic posters
Your electronic presentation must be prepared in Microsoft PowerPoint and set to run on a continuous loop of between five and ten minutes.

Maximum five slides per poster presentation not including videos or movies

Maximum PowerPoint file size is not to exceed 10mb

You will be required to ensure delivery of your presentation on or before 11 May 2012. Full delivery details will be provided when your submission is accepted.
guidelines for hard copy poster presentations

The maximum and recommended poster size is 110 x 80cm. Minimum size is 90 x 60cm

Lettering should be at least 13mm in height and preferably in bold type

Diagrams and figures should be similar to slides, but more heavily drawn and without unnecessary details

Your material/illustrations will be viewed from a distance of one metre or more. Simplicity is the key. Utilise a brief caption, tables that are few in number and clear and succinct text

You will be required to deliver your poster presentation to the Conference Registration Desk by 9am on Friday 25 May 2012, and collect it between 1.45 and 3.00pm on Sunday 27 May 2012. Further information will be provided prior to the conference
